The Ultimate Stress Reliever: Can Tho’s Youth Discover a New Archery Haven
The Can Tho Archery Station, which opened its doors on Sunday with support from the Vietnam Youth Federation’s local chapter, saw an enthusiastic response from the city’s youth, with over 200 registrations on the first day.
Spanning 1,000 square meters in the heart of Cai Khe Ward, at 3 Le Loi Street, the facility is a haven for archery enthusiasts. It boasts an impressive setup with 18 shooting targets, providing a comprehensive archery experience.
One of the unique aspects of this archery range is the direct access it offers to professional athletes and coaches. Regular workshops are conducted to guide players in refining their technique and improving their performance. It’s a great opportunity for beginners and enthusiasts alike to learn from the experts.
Beyond just shooting practice, the Can Tho Archery Station organizes competitions, fostering a spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie. Archers can also expand their knowledge by learning about the different types of bows used in the sport.
For friends like Nguyen Thuy Trang and her group, the archery range offers a fun way to bond and create memorable experiences. They turned their visit into a friendly competition, with the loser treating everyone to milk tea—a creative way to add excitement to the activity.

Trang couldn’t hide her enthusiasm, sharing with a smile, “Archery is not just a great form of exercise, but it also helps me relieve stress and spend quality time with friends. It’s an incredibly rewarding experience.”
Huynh Minh Duc, the director of the Can Tho Archery Station, explained the driving force behind establishing this facility: “We wanted to cater to the growing enthusiasm for archery in the Mekong Delta, especially among the youth. Our goal is to provide a platform for them to not only learn and practice but also pursue semi-professional or professional careers in archery.”
With around 100 members, mostly students from Can Tho, the club is fostering a community of dedicated archers. The sport itself demands concentration, perseverance, and discipline, as players must follow the coach’s instructions closely during training.
“Archery is a sport that instills a sense of accomplishment,” Duc added. “The feeling of finally hitting the bullseye after days of practice is incredibly satisfying for our players.”
