On Sunday, Lt. Uzair Mehmood Malik, a young army officer who was critically injured during a fierce gun battle with militants in Tirah Valley, Khyber District, on Friday, succumbed to his wounds and passed away at Peshawar’s Combined Military Hospital (CMH). He was laid to rest in his native graveyard in Attock District. North Waziristan witnessed two separate incidents, the first of which took place in Razmak tehsil, where militants targeted a security official, resulting in his death. The second clash occurred on Khaisur Road in Mir Ali tehsil, injuring four security personnel. They were promptly transferred to Miramshah Hospital.
