“Happy Vietnam” Through the Lens: A Photographic Journey to Thailand

The “Happy Vietnam” photo exhibition, presented by the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Communication, invites you to explore a captivating collection of visuals until December 27th.

The photograph, titled “The Sweet Happiness,” is a masterpiece by Vu Dieu Hoa, who claimed the first prize in the “Happy Vietnam 2024” photo and video competition.

This exhibition proudly displays an exquisite selection of photographs from a pool of over 10,300 submissions to the aforementioned contest. Each image captures the very essence of Vietnam’s vibrant culture, breathtaking landscapes, and the warmth of its people.

Pham Viet Hung, the Ambassador of Vietnam to Thailand, expressed his aspiration that this exhibition will inspire visitors to delve deeper into the rich traditions, heartfelt hospitality, and dynamic progress of Vietnam. He extends a warm invitation to all to experience the country’s vibrant culture firsthand.

Steejit Taipiboonsuk, Deputy Secretary-General of the Thai National Assembly, offered her admiration for the exhibition, highlighting the humanistic and uplifting nature of the photographs. She praised the depiction of a modern and thriving Vietnam, where happiness, respect, and collective progress flourish.

According to Pham Anh Tuan, Director-General of the Department of External Communication Service, these photos are the crème de la crème, carefully chosen from over 10,300 entries submitted by nearly 7,000 participants for the 2024 “Happy Vietnam” Photo and Video Contest. This includes 600 international and 270 overseas Vietnamese contributors.

The “Happy Vietnam 2024” photo contest, launched in March 2024, aimed to showcase Vietnam’s peace, stability, breathtaking landscapes, and dynamic populace. It also highlighted the country’s vibrant economy and its rising status as a happy and prosperous nation.

In the second edition of the competition, the gold medal was bestowed upon Vu Dieu Hoa for her heartwarming photograph, “The Sweet Happiness.” One of the two silver medals was awarded to Duong Van Giang for his unique capture of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte cycling in Hanoi. Additionally, Dinh Bao Chau earned a bronze medal for his touching photo, “The Kid.”
