The Ultimate Showdown in Saigon: International Billiards Tournament with a Massive Prize Pot

The highly anticipated billiards tournament, Ho Chi Minh City Open, is set to thrill fans until September 29. This prestigious event, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards & Snooker Federation, is a premier international pool championship in Vietnam, sanctioned by the World Pool Association and the Asian Confederation of Billiard Sports.

What sets this tournament apart is the diverse pool of talent it attracts. Both local and international players come together to showcase their skills and passion for the sport.

With a total prize pool of $75,000 on offer, the competition promises intense matches and dramatic moments. The eventual champion will walk away with a lucrative $35,000, while the runner-up will still earn a respectable $13,000. The third-place player will receive $5,000, and the remaining top eight players will each take home $3,000.

But the rewards don’t stop there. The top 16 players will each be recognized with a $1,600 prize, and even the top 32 finalists will receive $800 each. It’s a tournament that truly celebrates and rewards excellence.

The road to the championship begins with the elimination round, taking place from September 20 to 23. Out of 128 talented participants, only 32 will advance to the final round, where the real battle commences. Even the elimination round offers substantial prizes, with the winner taking home $5,000 and the runner-up receiving $2,000.

According to Nguyen Van Tri, chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards & Snooker Federation, “Ho Chi Minh City Open 2024 is more than just a tournament. It serves as a platform to elevate Vietnamese billiards to new heights and provides our local players with the opportunity to test their mettle against international competition, gaining invaluable experience in the process.”

This tournament is about more than just winning prizes; it’s about fostering growth, competition, and a love for the sport. “It gives our local talent a chance to shine on a global stage and learn from their international peers,” added Nguyen Van Tri.
