Ninh Binh: Celebrating Trang An’s 10th Anniversary as World Heritage Site

Recently, the People’s Committee of Ninh Binh province held a press conference to announce the launch of various activities aimed at strengthening community cohesion, promoting cultural exchanges, and enhancing the image of the Trang An cultural heritage site. Tran Song Tung, vice chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People’s Committee, emphasized that Ninh Binh is the only locality in Southeast Asia with mixed cultural and natural heritage.

Diverse activities are planned for this year, including the old Tet festival and an international scientific conference. These activities aim to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Trang An as a world heritage site.

The winters are cold and dry from November to March, with the transitional periods of spring and autumn occurring in April and October. The average temperature is about 23.5 degrees Celsius, making it a great destination to visit at any time of the year.

The region has distinct seasons, each offering a unique experience for visitors. Based on the weather, the best time to visit is from April to June and September to October when the weather is pleasant and rainfall is relatively low.

From April to June, the landscapes are vibrant and lush, with mild temperatures ranging from 25 to 30 degrees Celsius. The rice paddies are a beautiful shade of green, creating a picturesque setting for exploring the stunning karst mountains, caves, and rivers that make Ninh Binh famous.

From September to October, Ninh Binh enjoys pleasant weather for outdoor activities like hiking, cycling, and boat trips. Additionally, the rice harvest season falls during September, providing visitors with a mesmerizing sight of golden rice fields.

February and March are also great times to visit Ninh Binh for those interested in experiencing local festivals. The region comes alive with vibrant celebrations that showcase the local community’s traditions, customs, and spiritual beliefs.

Trang An is a popular destination in Ninh Binh, known for its stunning karst formations, including limestone mountains, caves, and rivers. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a filming location for the movie Kong: Skull Island.

Whether you choose to explore Trang An by boat or on foot, you will be treated to an unforgettable experience. Admission to Trang An costs 250,000 VND for adults and 100,000 VND for children under 1.4 meters. Tour guides are available for an additional fee of 300,000 VND.
