Gordon Ramsay Names Vietnam as One of World’s Top Food Destinations

British celebrity chef, Gordon Ramsay certainly has a taste for pho, bun cha, banh mi, and other Viet dishes. Recently, he said Vietnam is in the top three countries to visit for the best food. Unique plants on display at Hanoi Ornamental Creatures Festival 2022

The event features a wider range of unique ornamental trees and bonsai worth several hundreds to billions of VND. This piece named “Hoang Long Vu De” is valued at VND3 billion, equivalent to US$126,370. Another piece, named “Vu Hoi Long Hoa”, is offered at a price in the tens of billions of VND. The age-old tree often has a massive, mossy trunk. A gardener brings his ornamental tree to the festival, offering it at VND3.5 billion, equal to US$147,431. The Hanoi Ornamental Creatures Festival is considered to be an important trade promotion activity which contributes to fostering the overall development of the capital’s horticulture. “Hello, I caught a golden pompano weighing up to 12 kilograms yesterday,” Le Van Cam, whose nickname is “Cam sin”, told us about his great prize from his fishing trip the previous day.  Trophies from the sea   Cam had to dive under reefs at night to catch the big fish.  Nam O Beach in the early morning was crowded with big and small boats returning from the previous night’s fishing trip. And the news that Cam got the rare fish woke up his colleagues.  Many waited for him to witness the giant fish. A trader saw the fish and asked Cam to sell it for VND3 million (US$120.9).  The fishing village by Nam O Beach looks old, peaceful, and mysterious. More Room to Develop Vietnamese Shipping Fleet

Photo: thanhnien.vn Vietnam’s shipping fleet has recently undergone an increase in its performance to rank third in Southeast Asia and 22nd in the world overall, VOV reported, citing the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). Back in 2019, the Vietnamese fleet was ranked fourth in ASEAN and 30th globally. According to the information given by the Vietnam Maritime Administration, the country had 1,477 ships as of December, with a total tonnage of approximately 11.6 million DWT and a capacity of roughly seven million GT. The transport fleet alone reached 1,009 ships with a total tonnage of about 10.7 million DWT and a total capacity of some 6.4 million GT. In addition, the number of bulk carriers stands at 709 ships, accounting for 70.3% of the overall figure.
